Matt Hackman holds a BFA degree in dance from the University of Minnesota and has been dancing since the age of six. Growing up in the competition circuit, he trained under the Larkin Dance Studio out of Maplewood, MN and attended the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.  

 

Matt is a founding member with Crash Dance Productions, a Twin Cities based contemporary dance company, where he continues to choreograph and guest perform. Matt has also been a member of the Minnesota Dance Theatre performing works with acclaimed choreographers: Jennifer Backhaus, Louis Falco, Carl Flink, Wynn Fricke, Loyce Houlton, Lise Houlton, Dwight Roden, Glen Tetley, Nathan Trice and Shapiro & Smith Dance. 

As a former faculty member at Dance Arts Centre in Chanhassen MN, he is best recognized for his exciting and unique choreography, winning numerous top honor awards. Matt takes pride creating versatile, intelligent and successful dancers, basing his classes in disciplined technique and artistic exploration.

 

Currently, Matt judges with Showbiz Talent & PrimeTime Dance and teaches master classes and choreography for studio and dance teams around the nation.
